Review of At His Service Pt 3 by Suzanne Rock

The bit on the back…

Leo Perconti's life is spinning out of control. As head of his family’s hotel conglomerate, it’s his job to save his family from bankruptcy. At the centre of his turmoil is Karin Norell, a quiet, alluring housekeeping manager who compliments his dominating personality and lets him feel in control once more.

As Karin explores her passion her feelings for Leo deepen. Unfortunately, Karin and Leo come from different worlds, and when the two worlds collide, the cost can be devastating. As the service staff at The Palazzo rise up against the Perconti family, both Leo and Karin are faced with losing what each of them holds most dear. Together they must learn that true power comes from vulnerability and trust that can only happen when you let your insecurities go.

Firstly thank you to St Martin’s Press for approving me for an ARC of this miniseries on NetGalley.

This is the third part in the At His Service series following the two characters Leo and Karin.
In the last instalment the troubles of the hotel and the problems with invasive press reporters were putting strain on Karin and Leo’s relationship. It also gave a glimpse into the lives of the other Perconti brothers and the pact that they made that follows them all around hampering any prospective relationships. Leo’s caring shone through again and it’s this lovely Leo we see at the start of the third part.

In order to continue to protect Karin as the pair further their relationship Leo makes her an offer she can barely refuse with her ambition in mind. However the hotel continues to be in crisis mode with staff making the lives of the owners more stressful. I could feel the palpable pressure returning in this book with a sense of anxiety emanating from Leo. Karin appeared to be the antidote to his anxiety but it all seems to be getting too much.

I really found that both Leo and Karin’s jobs were interesting and it makes for good reading alongside their relationship. The story is well written with developed characters which ensures that you want to continue reading.
