Review of Sunset in Central Park by Sarah Morgan

Today I'm taking part in the blog tour for Sarah Morgan's latest novel Sunset in Central Park. This is the 2nd novel in her latest series From Manhattan With Love and today is also the publication today so Happy Pub Day Sarah!! You can buy the book here - if you haven't already pre-ordered it!!

The bit on the back...

True love can be hard to find, even when. It’s been right under your nose all along…

After witnessing the fallout of her parent’s divorce, love has never been a priority for garden designer Frankie Fisher. The only man in her life is her friend Matt–but that’s strictly platonic. If only she found it easier to ignore the way he makes her heart race…

Matt Walker has loved Frankie for years but, has always played it cool. Until he uncovers new depths to the girl he’s known forever, and doesn’t want to wait a moment longer.

Matt knows Frankie has secrets and has buried them deep, but can he persuade her to kiss him under the Manhattan sunset?

Firstly thank you to Harlequin for the review copy of this title via NetGalley. Sarah's books are always ones that I look forward to and after LOVING the start of this series (Sleepless in Manhattan - review here) I was desperate to get my hands on this and get started with it. I pretty much dropped everything else I had on and started straight away.

As I said this is the 2nd book in Sarah's From Manhattan with Love series and is all about main characters Frankie and Matt. Both characters take turns with the narrative in this story and I always love reading from Sarah's male MC's POV. It always feels to me like a cheeky glimpse into the male mind and I love the way Sarah writes her guys. Matt is definitely a new book boyfriend to get yourself hung up on!

Frankie's always been on her guard around guys and with Matt it's always been friends only. As Matt starts to peel layer upon layer away from the barrier around her heart her resolve hangs by a thread. I love that the characters have been friends before taking a step further in their relationship. It's such a good basis for the story here particularly because Matt already knows Frankie's complicated upbringing and understands some of her insecurities. Matt seems like such a genuinely great guy and that is displayed many times throughout the novel. For all Frankie is guarded with her heart, she is very kind and loving towards her friends. Her and Matt are similar in this respect and it's one of the many things they have in common.

There are so many things to love about this series but in this book in particular the characters take a visit back to Puffin Island. If you've read any of Sarah's previous series, eponymously named the Puffin Island series, you will be glad to get back to the island and have a quick catch up with some of the main characters from the series.

If you're new to Sarah's books then where have you been?! Seriously though if you've never read her books I recommend you start with the Snow Crystal Trilogy then hit the Puffin Island series before starting From Manhattan with Love, simply because you will absolutely fall head over heels for Sarah's writing, her dreamy romance and her book boyfriends. So much so you will be chomping at the bit, much like me, for the 3rd and final instalment which will be out later this year.

Sarah Morgan writes warm contemporary women’s fiction with her trademark humour which has gained her fans across the globe. Sarah lives near London with her husband and children, and when she isn’t reading or writing she loves being outdoors, preferably on holiday so she can forget the house needs tidying.
