Review of Miracle on 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan

The bit on the back...

Hopeless romantic Eva Jordan loves everything about Christmas. Even if she is spending it alone housesitting a spectacular Fifth Avenue apartment. What she didn’t expect was to find the penthouse still occupied by its gorgeous–and mysterious–owner.

Bestselling crime writer Lucas Blade is having the nightmare before Christmas. With a deadline and the anniversary of his wife’s death looming, he’s isolated himself in his penthouse with only his grief for company. But when the blizzard of the century leaves Eva snowbound in his apartment, Lucas starts to open up to the magic she brings…This Christmas, is Lucas finally ready to trust that happily-ever-afters do exist?

Ding ding ding!! Sarah Morgan's Christmas book boyfriend has arrived - her annual present to us all! Happy release day! A massive thank you to MIRA for the review copy of this title. I always look forward to a new book from Sarah Morgan and this is the third, highly anticipated book in her From Manhattan With Love series which is now a 6 book series! The first book, Paige's story, introduced readers to the three best friends Paige, Frankie and Eva. Frankie is the star of the second book and Eva comes into her own in book number 3 Miracle on 5th Avenue. Although I would definitely recommend you read each book in the series they can all be read stand alone.

So at this point, if you've read the first two books in this series, you will know Eva pretty well. She's a totally hopeless romantic, always striving to make everyone around her happy and find the goodness in everyone. She's a very compassionate and emotional character who wears her heart on her sleeve and isn't afraid to show how she feels about situations. She loves the family she's created for herself - Paige and Jake and Frankie and Matt. And she absolutely loves Christmas!

Lucas is the complete antithesis of Eva. He is anti-romance, anti-enjoyment, anti-family and anti-Christmas. As the story unfolds both Eva and the reader will come to understand why Lucas is as cynical as he is and how he has tried to cope with everything he's been through. Lucan and Eva find themselves duped into spending time together and when the New York winter hits hard they can't even escape one another. Their first meeting and circumstance in which they find themselves heighten the tension between the two characters right from the off - opposites do attract after all! They bounce off of one another and while Eva is in his home, she opens Lucas' eyes to what he is missing.

This is Sarah Morgan at her best. A beautiful winter romance with it's fair share of funny moments, chemistry and great characters. If you've never picked up one of Sarah's books before then what are you waiting for?! I can't recommend this series enough! Sarah has got to be one of the queens of book boyfriends for me and Luke is definitely in the hall of fame!

  1. I read this book in November and loved it so, soooo much!! My favorite book of that month!
It was my fist book by Sarah Morgan, but it surely won't be the last, because now I want to read everything she wrote.
